Dear colleagues! Center for Language and Brain at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) invites you to join us at our second annual Summer School, "Language and Brain Pathology".  The purpose of the school is to continue an annual scientific and educational program in the experimental studies of language and to create an academic environment for discussion of scientific ideas and the latest achievements in the field. This year the school will be devoted to various brain pathologies leading to language disorders. The event will take place in Moscow, Russia, August 24th – 26th, 2015. 

The school program will include three days of invited talks and two poster sessions.  An introductory day will be devoted to the presentation of general information on language and its structure, brain substrates supporting language processing and neuroimaging of language pathologies.  The second day of the school will be dedicated to aphasia and its clinical presentations.  The third day will be focused on language pathology in neurosurgery. Over the course of three days, attendees will gain knowledge about different brain pathologies and become more familiar with associated linguistic deficits and methods of diagnosis. The expertise of the invited Russian and foreign experts guarantees the high quality of the training. 

The program will be of interest to students and professionals in the fields of Linguistics, Psychology, Speech Pathology, Neuroscience, and Medicine as well as to all interested in the neural bases of language, neurogenic language disorders, speech-language therapy for people with aphasia and neurosurgery.  Novices in this area as well as experts from related areas who have a basic knowledge of neurolinguistics, language and brain pathology will benefit from attending this school. All participants will expand their knowledge about the contemporary multidisciplinary area of neurolinguistics and learn about modern methods used for investigating various brain pathologies.

- The working language of the Summer School is English.  No translation in Russian will be provided. Abstracts for the poster session must also be submitted in English.
  - Please use the provided submission page to upload your abstract.
  - Abstract submissions are encouraged but are not required to participate in the school.
  - The venue will be in Moscow with the exact address to be determined.
  - Participation in the School is free. Accommodations in Moscow and transportation (if necessary) are the responsibility of each participant.
