Strategic communications in Russia: a book with articles by the lecturers of the Department of Integrated Communications has been published.

The book is written in English for an audience from different countries: students, teachers, researchers and practitioners, whose academic and professional interests include strategic communications in Russia.

The work focuses on the study of strategic communications in Russia and their significant components - public relations and advertising - as a sphere of professional activity, subject of study and social institution.

The idea for this project was born on the sidelines of the International Communications Association conference in Chicago in 2014. Nelly Bachurina, the lecturer at the Department and the co-author of the book, recalled that the idea had appeared in the wake  of some of the conference speeches attended by the lecturers  of the Department of Integrated Communications, including Sergey Zverev, Oleg Kashirskikh, Alexandra Endaltseva and others. The main authors and inspirations of the book were Professor of Communication Research Department at the University of North Carolina (USA) Dean Kruckeberg and Professor of the University of Oklahoma (USA) Ekaterina Tsetsura. They were responsible for coordinating the authors  and delegation of tasks, and lined up  the structure and logic of the book.

It is difficult to overestimate the contribution of this book: it is one of the few, if not the only book that covers  the issues of communications in Russia on such a large scale.

Nikita Savin
Associate Professor at the Department of Integrated Communications

Nikita Savin, the Department's associate professor  and one of the contributors of the publication, notes that the complex Russian society is based on very complex communication processes, which are still not fully explored or described  today. According to Nikita Savin, the published book is "the first and very successful approach to filling this gap".

The book "Strategic Communications in Russia: Public Relations and Advertising" includes works of Sergey Zverev and Oleg Kashirskikh, Nikita Savin and Olga Solovieva, Nelly Bachurina, Alexandra Endaltseva, Yulia Gryaznova, Elena Gryzunova, as well as the  research of Alexander Mozhaev, co-authored  with Lyudmila Kryuchkovskaya, the graduate of Bachelor's Programme in Advertising and Public Relations.

The edition is already available for ordering on Amazon. Congratulations to our colleagues!
