Sergey Zverev: “Post-COVID19 environment - time for a positive agenda”

Sergey Zverev, the head of Department of Integrated Communications at NRU HSE, spoke at the All-Russian youth educational forum “The Territory of Meanings”.

“The Territory of Meanings” - has been the All-Russian youth educational forum since 2015. It unites thousands of young and talented experts from different branches: health care, IT, international relations, journalism, communication and others. 

During the discussion, Sergey Zverev, the head of Department of Integrated Communications at NRU HSE, told the participants about the changes in the communication field: “Today we really are at a stage, when any new technological step changes our communication a lot. We move to an utterly new perception of branches and things after all digitalisation has become a part of our lives.”

The head of the department also pointed out the changes for generation Z, who not only possess absolutely new values such as “not own but use’, moreover, completely different needs. It is important for the new generation to constantly perceive new information and at the same time being a member of our society, getting information “here and now”.

The speaker, together with the participants, touched upon one of the most vital topics today - the aftermath of the pandemic in the media world. After the pandemic, as S. Zverev said, the world of communication has changed drastically. A titanic thrust has occurred in information consumption: society has become more involved, and that allows to increase the level of trust for the info-sources.

“Post-COVID19 environment - time for a positive agenda The society is tired of the anxious tension and any positive news are perceived much better and quicker”, - S. Zverev pointed out. The speaker urged not to stop at the “pandemic” news occasions, and to create new ones, attracting, as the virus will pass, but the growth points will remain!
