Faculty members and students presented their research results at the 12th International Mycological Congress (IMC12)
The event took place on 11-15 August 2024 in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

The Congress was held for the first time since 2017 and gathered mycologists from all over the world. Anna Shestakova, a graduate of the Cell and Molecular Biotechnology programme and currently a lecturer at the Faculty, was the only congress participant from Russia.
More than 40 oral and 600 poster papers were presented at the congress, one of which was a poster paper presented by Anna Shestakova. The paper was co-authored by students and faculty members - Fatkulin Artem (3rd year), Surkova Daria (4th year), Popova Elizaveta (Associate Professor) and Osmolovsky Alexander (Associate Professor, Best Teacher 2021-2024).
Anna Shestakova shared her impressions: ‘I have been waiting for this conference for about a year and was incredibly happy to participate in it. During these 5 days I met a lot of enthusiastic and dedicated professionals and got an insight into cutting-edge research in fungal biology. I am proud to say that the level of our research is on par with the best mycological laboratories in the world’.
