On April 2, 2024, Moscow, the Head of the ILSIR, Professor Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova and research assistant Natalia Bulchenko took part in the panel discussion in memory of Raisa Maximovna Gorbacheva "Women in the revival of cultural traditions of Russia" at the Gorbachev Foundation.

Olga Zdravomyslova, Doctor of Philosophy, sociologist, Vice-President of Raisa Gorbacheva Club (Gorbachev Foundation) and Nadezhda Azhgikhina, the writer of PEN Center held the panel session about the role of R.M. Gorbacheva in reviving the traditions of charity and the participation of Russian women in culture and charitable activities.

The historian Konstantin Krasnoslobodtsev reported about the archive of R.M. Gorbacheva, the Forbes journalist Yana Zhilyaeva talked on R.M. Gorbacheva's contribution to the promotion of Russian art at international auctions, the researcher of the history of Russian charity Galina Ulyanova and other speakers participated in the panel discussion. 

Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova spoke on Raisa Maximovna Gorbacheva as the part of the sociologist community of the sixties, in particular about her contribution to the development of charity as an ethical and instrumental basis for professional social work, and the current state of women's charity in Russia as well.
