HSE ISSEK Estimates of Russia’s Creative Economy Are Included in the UNCTAD’s Industry Review

In 2019, Russian creative industries’ contribution to GDP amounted to 2.4%; the creative economy employs 4.9 million people (6.8% of the total national workforce). These measurements of Russia's creative economy obtained by HSE ISSEK were included in the international report ‘Creative Economy Outlook 2022’ produced by the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

COVID-19 pandemic has become an exogenous shock to the economy that significantly changed consumer behavior. The financial industry is simultaneously one of those most affected sectors by this shock and one of the leaders in both the development and implementation of new technologies. Technological leadership and the ability to shift to digital models made it possible for banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions to overcome the consequences of the coronavirus more easily concluded the participants of the Innovations in Finance session of the XI Annual International Academic Conference “Foresight and Science, Technology and Innovation Policy” October 15-26, 2021.

An individual project research seminar 'Transformation in banking: impact of unexpected crises and COVID-19' provided by Veronika Belousova, Canan Yildirim (Rennes School of Business) and Nikolay Chichkanov has been finished. Ten students participating in the course received regular assistance in the preparation of their individual research projects in banking & finance.
