The HSE ISSEK experts compared data about the application of technological, marketing, and organisational innovations by the Russian knowledge-intensive business services sector (KIBS) companies with relevant figures for European countries such as the UK, Germany, Denmark, Malta, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. The results are presented in the latest newsletter in the "Science, Technology, and Innovation" series.

“Digital Week” at the OECD

Gulnara Abdrakhmanova, Director of the HSE ISSEK Centre for Statistics and Monitoring of Information Society, and Olga Demidkina, Leading Expert at the OECD-HSE Partnership Centre took part in the OECD Digital Week (15—19 May, Paris). Its focal point was the meeting of the OECD Committee on Digital Economy Policy, which is responsible for a major OECD project “Going Digital”. The participants have also discussed preparation of the Digital Outlook report.

E-commerce in Russia

The latest HSE ISSEK bulletin in the “Science, Technology, and Innovation” series presents data about use of e-commerce by Russian individuals and enterprises. Almost every fourth Russian (23%) ordered goods or services via the internet in 2016. 12% of the business sector enterprises used the net to sell their products and services in 2015, and 17% made electronic purchases.

Veronika Belousova gave a master class at the Inholland University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands)

Inholland University of Applied Sciences, one of the biggest universities in Netherlands with more than 40 000 students, annually invites the lecturers from partner universities to present guest lectures. This year, the event was attended by experts from UK, Hungary, Lithuania, Russia, Finland and Czech Republic. HSE was represented by Veronika Belousova and Vasily Solodkov who conducted a series of master classes in an interactive manner on February 6-8, 2017. They highlighted the trends in the development of payment systems and the evolution of world currency systems.
