HSE University among Leaders on RAEX and Interfax Rankings
HSE University has placed 5th in the annual ranking of the best Russian universities compiled by the RAEX agency (RAEX Analytics). The university also came in third in terms of demand for graduates.
In addition, a new ranking of the best universities in Russia in the IT field has been published, where HSE also took 5th place. The new ranking evaluates universities according to three broad parameters: quality of education, employers’ demand for graduates, and research and development.
HSE University has also improved its position on Interfax’s 10th Annual National University Ranking, climbing to 4th place.
RAEX-Analytics has been publishing an annual ranking of Russian universities since 2012. The ranking is based on statistical indicators, as well as the results of surveys of 60,000 respondents including employers, representatives of academia, students, and university alumni.
International information service Interfax has been compiling its National University Ranking since 2010. The project primarily aims to provide an independent evaluation of Russian universities and their degree programmes, while also enhancing the competitiveness of Russia’s educational system, research and technological entrepreneurship, as well as developing federal and regional universities as drivers of growth and development.
HSE University has taken the first place in the ranking of entrepreneurial universities and business schools by Expert Analysis Centre. The ranking’s evaluation criteria include startups that were launched by alumni of economics or business programmes.
HSE University improved its performance from last year, entering the Top-200 of the Times Higher Education (THE) subject ranking in Arts and Humanities. We now place second among Russian universities and have the best results of the participants of the Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100.
HSE University is now represented in all four fields of the Top-100 of Business Master's ranking, which was published for the third time by the international agency QS.
HSE University was able to place high on the Graduate Employability Ranking (201-250), outpacing its main competitors for the first time in five years. This year, the number of candidates to the ranking was increased 15% (758 universities), with new 36 universities joining the list.
HSE University has firmly entered the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), which is known for its rigorous selection criteria. After placing in the ranking for the first time last year, HSE University maintained its position despite increased competition — more than 50 new universities entered the ranking for the first time this year.
HSE recently placed 39th in the QS Top-50 ‘Under 50’ ranking, thus maintaining its position in the Top-40 despite increasing competition in this special academic category.
In 2019 the Higher School of Economics has climbed from 84th to 60th place in the Time Higher Education (THE) world ranking of young universities. HSE University is the only Russian university to place in the top 100 of this ranking.
HSE University has improved its position in the QS institutional ranking by 21 places this year, taking 7th place among Russian universities. The advancement comes thanks to a significant improvement in academic reputation and assessment of university graduates by employers.
HSE University has appeared in 10 subject areas and six subject categories of the Expert Analytical Centre ranking of university research productivity. Moreover, HSE ranked 1st in five areas and two sections.
