Mental Health Lectures, Mindfulness Practices, and Therapy Dogs

On October 10, Mental Health Day is celebrated all over the world. Since 2019, the HSE Centre for Psychological Counselling, together with HSE School of Psychology, have held Mental Health Day to draw the attention of students and staff to the pressing issue of psychological well-being. This year, the festival will be held for the fifth time.

World Mental Health Day is an event that, like caring for your mental health and psychological well-being, is becoming very important and popular these days. On this day, we want to talk about what we can do for our own well-being, to improve the quality of our life, as well as how to make the environment and social space around us psychologically supportive, kind and caring.
The Mental Health Day 2023 programme features the following activities (in Russian):
— 14:00 — public talk ‘On the Issue of Mental Normality’
— 14:00 — master class ‘Creativity to Guard Your Mental Health. Methods for Developing Creativity’
— 15:00 — lecture ‘Perception of the City's Environment and Psychological Distress’
— 15:00 — cognitive behavioural coaching session ‘Why We Need to Think Rationally and How Thoughts and Emotions are Connected’
— 15:00 — lecture ‘Fulcrum: How to Find Meaning in Any Situation’
— 16:00 — dog therapy session
— 17:00 — lecture ‘Logoart Therapy Techniques that Contribute to the Development of Stress Tolerance’
— 17:00 — master class ‘How to Pass Exams and Survive: The Importance of Mindfulness Practices for Stress Reduction and Emotional Regulation’
— 18:00 — lecture ‘Humour as Support in Difficult Circumstances’
— 18:00 — master class ‘The Art of Contact. Traps of Misunderstanding’
— 18:00 — training session ‘Conscious Leadership’
— 19:00 — lecture ‘What Is Empathy and Why Do We Develop It?’
