3rd Winter School on Data Analytics Held at HSE Nizhny Novgorod

On November 28th-30th, HSE Nizhny Novgorod hosted the 3rd Winter School of Data Analytics (DA 2018). Over the last three years, this school has become a significant event in the history of data culture at the HSE campus in Nizhny Novgorod.

The school was organized by HSE Laboratory of Algorithms and Technologies for Network Analysis (LATNA) and Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics of Russian Academy of Science with support from INTEL.

This is the 3rd school on data analytics in Nizhny Novgorod and, like the previous two, aroused great interest - 65 participants from Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow, Perm, St. Petersburg, Germany and Canada were selected from over 130 applicants.

Alexander Aptekarev, RAS corresponding member, Director of Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics, and Panos Pardalos, Academic Supervisor of the Laboratory of Algorithms and Technologies for Networks Analysis delivered welcome speeches at the school's opening ceremony. Intel representatives introduced the company's latest developments in data analysis and artificial intelligence.

The school programme included lectures by leading experts on the most pressing issues of data analysis and machine learning, including lectures by Victor Lempitsky, Lab Leader at Samsung AI Center and Associate Professor at Skoltech. Participants not only gained new knowledge, but also got a look at the process of creating modern digital technologies.

Participants received certificates and gifts from INTEL and LATNA.
