Petr Parshakov took part in the 2nd Annual Virtual Paper and Idea Development Workshop “Advancing Management Theory with Sports Data”

On April 22, 2021, Maksim Murakaev, an employee of the laboratory, participated in a workshop about scientific communications for employees of international laboratories, organized by the PR block of the Higher School of Economics.

To what extent do the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) benefit from an open economy? What financial, scientific, and educational policy tools will contribute to the implementation of the recently approved ‘Strategic Directions for the Development of Eurasian Economic integration until 2025’? These questions were discussed by participants in a series of expert discussions at the XXII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development organised by HSE University and Sberbank.

Two sessions organized by the Center for Sociocultural Research of the National Research University Higher School of Economics within Section T “Social and Cultural processes” of the XXII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development, took place on April 14th via MS Teams platform.

On April 22 Maria Terskova (MA, Junior Research Fellow, Scientific and Educational Laboratory of Psychology of Social Inequality, National Research University Higher School of Economics) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "Factors of dehumanization of performers of "dirty" work: stigmatization and social status".

On April 16, a round table discussion dedicated to the triennial of the International Laboratory of Logic, Linguistics and Formal Philosophy was held.

This year SCILA was presented by Kirill Bryanov and Victoria Vziatysheva at the international conference "Comparative Media Studies in Today's World"

What is affect and why is it important for humans? How can feelings be defined and what is their relation to emotions and consciousness? What might be used in making a soft robot? Professor Antonio Damasio (University of Southern California, USA) discussed these and other questions in his honorary lecture, entitled 'Feeling, Knowing, and Artificial Intelligence'.The talk was delivered on April 16 at the at the XXII April International Academic Conference held by HSE University jointly with Sberbank.

Within the framework of the RSF project (No. 20-18-00268), John W. Berry and Dmitry Grigoryev prepared a report on intercultural relations in Canada for Environics Institute. The report draws on some of the findings from a study conducted using representative data from the Race Relations in Canada 2019 survey, which tested some of the assumptions from the adaptationist reconceptualization of intergroup contact theory proposed by the authors of the report.
