Anna Rezyapova, a research assistant of our laboratory, participated in two international events related to the problem of migration and demography which took place in Athens (June 18-21, 2018) and Lisbon (June 26-28, 2018). Anna shared her experience and impressions of the trip.
The Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) together with EACES and the Academy for Civic Education (APB) organized their 10th Joint Summer Academy on Central and Eastern Europe. The event titled "Firm Behavior in Central and Eastern Europe: Productivity, Innovation and Trade” took place in a German town of Tutzing on June 11-13, 2018. ICSID research fellow Irina Levina presented her research project on decentralization of firms "Does firms' decentralization pay off in weak institutions setup? Decentralization and investment of Russian firms" during one of the panels.
ICSID and NES Center for the Study of Diversity and Social Interactions held another joint Research Seminar on Diversity and Development on May 23, 2018.
Lecture on Atomistic Mechanism of the Constitutive Activation of PDGFRA Via Its Transmembrane Domain
On Tuesday, May 15, seminar "Supercomputer and Multiscale Modelling of Condensed Phase and Biological Systems" was held. A. Polyansky from IBCh RAS gave a talk "Atomistic mechanism of the constitutive activation of PDGFRA via its transmembrane domain". The result of this study was the molecular model of PDGFRa receptor activation, and the role of its oncogenic mutant form have been revealed. On the second part of the seminar students of SAMMA Laboratory reported on their projects.
Leonid Gokhberg, HSE First Vice Rector, Director of the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge, spoke on his first steps in academia, working with foreign researchers, on foresight research as well as shared his thoughts on HSE research development.
On April 12, 2018 the round table "Using the OECD standards and best practices in Urban and Housing Policy" took place at the Higher School of Economics. The event was conducted jointly with DOM.RF Russia Housing and Urban Development Corporation in the framework of the section S "Science and Innovation" of the XIX HSE International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development. Participants discussed a wide range of issues, in particular the potential of green growth and sustainable urban development.
At the upcoming XIXth April International Academic Conference On Economic and Social Development, the leading staff of the Laboratory for Comparative Social Research will present Russian editions of their latest monographs.
