Assessment Elements

  • non-blocking Seminar Participation
This will be assessed on the basis of regular class attendance and contribution to seminar discussions. The frequency and quality of questions and comments on other students' presentations will also be taken into account. Each seminar will be graded on a scale of 0 to 10. If a student has a valid excuse for missing a seminar, he/she may choose to complete a written assignment on the topic of the seminar instead of participating in the discussion. The arithmetic average of the seminars (rounding) will be used to calculate the grade for the component.
  • non-blocking Test
The test lasts 40 minutes and will be given at the final seminar of the first module. It consists of 34 questions with only one correct answer. The test questions are based on the lecture material and the required reading for the course. Students are not allowed to use textbooks, dictionaries, notes or other teaching materials when writing the text.
  • non-blocking Group Project
The group project includes collecting and analyzing statistical information on the selected country, preparing a presentation, and giving an oral presentation.
  • non-blocking Exam
The written exam takes the following form: Students are given one question and have 40 minutes to answer it. A student may be exempted from the exam at the lecturer's discretion if their average score for all other types of tasks is excellent (8 or higher). Using artificial intelligence to complete course assignments is prohibited.
