Course Syllabus
Abstract
All undergraduate students in the 1st year undergo the Independent Digital Literacy Test, confirming the development of this competence.The Independent Digital Literacy Test is carried out using proctoring procedures, the duration of the exam is 60 minutes. The exam consists of a test and a practical part. The questions cover the following thematic blocks: information, algorithmic communication and technical literacy, digital security skills. In the practical part, the student must show their skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.The final result is translated into a scale from 1 to 10. A score below 4 points is rounded off with the fractional part dropped (to the smallest integer), a score below 4 points is rounded to the nearest integer.The absence of positive results of the Independent Digital Literacy Test within the established time limits entails academic debt.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Searches for, aggregates, analyzes, selects, and structures relevant information, verifies its reliability, and uses it appropriately; Follows existing instructions, analyzes them, and creates new instructions or corrects errors in existing ones; Interacts with others safely and ethically using digital technologies; Protects their digital identity, personal digital space, and digital devices; Uses and maintains digital devices and technologies.
Assessment Elements
- Theoretical sectionIn the theoretical section, the student will complete 10 tasks covering: - searching for, analyzing, creating, and managing information; - creating, following, analyzing, and modifying instructions; - digital interaction, digital identity, digital etiquette, and digital law; - protecting one’s digital identity, devices, and data; - opportunities presented by big data. It is recommended to complete this section within 13 minutes.
- Practical sectionIn the practical section, the student will complete 4 tasks focused on: - using modern digital environments effectively; - applying various information search methods across diverse sources (including academic databases, file repositories, semantic search tools, and reference materials); - leveraging contemporary office productivity software to organize their own work. It is recommended to complete this section within 47 minutes. The total exam duration is 60 minutes.
