Abstract

This approach shifts the focus from pure academic theory to solving real-world business challenges. Instead of starting with a hypothesis to test in a lab, students begin by identifying a concrete problem in a company’s operations, strategy, or organizational behavior. They then apply relevant frameworks — from strategic management (SWOT, PEST, Porter’s Five Forces), marketing (customer journey mapping, segmentation), financial analysis (DCF, ratio analysis), and business planning (business model canvas, value proposition) — to diagnose the issue, gather and analyze data, and develop actionable recommendations. The goal is to cultivate skills in problem-framing, evidence-based decision-making, and translating insights into practical solutions that can be implemented in an organization.
