Abstract
This course offers a comprehensive exploration of the historical, political, and economic relationships between Russia and Countries of the East, providing a rigorous examination of the socio-political dynamics between Russia and Eastern countries. It is an interdisciplinary course designed to analyze the multifaceted ties between Russia and Asian regions. Students do not merely study the region; they try to interact with it through AI-facilitated research tools. The course demonstrates practical applications of AI in area studies, including automated text mining of diplomatic archives and, in a certain way, algorithmic forecasting of regional trends. This approach ensures a dual outcome: deep regional knowledge and proficiency in next-generation analytical technologies. The course provides the development of skills in working with artificial intelligence tools such as Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing to collect information, work with sources, formulate arguments to discuss the main topics of the course.
