Course Syllabus
Abstract
Korean Language. Elementary Course is a 64-academic hours course designed for the 2st grade students of the International Bachelor's in Business and Economics’s program. It is studied in 3-4 modules and aims to provide students with a basic knowledge and competences of Korean language and focuses on the acquisition of practical communicative skills. It covers basic grammar and essential vocabulary, allowing participants to communicate in Korean on a limited range of daily topics. Participants will learn to recognize and write both simplified and traditional characters, develop the skills of comprehending and producing Korean in speech and writing, use proper vocabulary and language structures.
By the end of the course, students typically achieve an international level of A2 on the scale of the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment" (CEFR) or level 2 out of 6 on the national TOPIK exam for determining proficiency in the Korean language.
The program aims to achieve maximum alignment of students' foreign language training levels with international standards in foreign language education.
