Course Syllabus

Abstract

In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, the ability to navigate the digital realm and adapt with agility is paramount for organizational success. This module has been crafted to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and strategic insights needed to thrive in the ever-changing world of business and consulting. The course is devoted to different aspects of digital transformation of business. The first module covers the history of industrial revolutions, a special attention is given to Fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0). Different sides of digital transformation are considered, many examples based on real companies are given. A part of the course covers revolution of IT platforms themselves. Considerable time is reserved for deep dive into modern technologies which usually being considered as a base of digital business transformation. Complex cases of successful and unsuccessful transformation of real companies are on the focus as well. Social and humanitarian consequences of digital transformation analyzed at the last module.

    Based on the presented case, students complete assignments related to the case content, drawing from the studied material
  • non-blocking Project_Transformation
    Teamwork of students. Based on an existing company, analyze and describe any business process, visualizing it using any notation. Suggest how the business process can be improved with the implementation of digital technologies. Display the business process considering the changes, draw conclusions about the results and effectiveness (as is - to be).
  • non-blocking AI implication
    Team work. Demonstrate how AI tools can be used to revive bankrupt companies (for example, Kodak, Nokia, etc.). First, analyze why the company faced difficulties, assess its digital maturity, and then propose how it can restore its business, paying attention to elements of digital transformation and modern technologies. Provide the report in the form of slides (4-6 slides).
  • non-blocking Exam
    Quiz consists of 40 questions and lasts 40 minutes. Only one answer is correct. This exam consists of multiple-choice, yes/no questions and open questions. A student is required to fill in a form in an electronic format (SmartLMS)/printed format. The exam includes key concepts covered by the course. Students take this exam individually.
