Abstract

Digital Tools for Communication represents an advanced stage of professional training, designed to deepen students’ practical skills in utilizing modern digital platforms, services, and analytical tools for the design and execution of digital communication campaigns. Building upon the competencies acquired in Linguopragmatics in Social Media and the Research Seminar Digital Tools and Artificial Intelligence in Applied Linguistics, this discipline shifts the focus toward constructing comprehensive communication infrastructures, designing user experiences (UX), and automating interactions. Particular emphasis is placed on corporate messaging platforms and CRM systems as environments for professional interaction, which necessitate a strong command of specific digital business etiquette and the ability to coordinate remote teams. A critical aspect of the course is the development of systemic and algorithmic thinking. As a logical progression of the AI-related coursework initiated previously, students will learn to apply digital services and integrate large language models (LLMs) into routine workflows to establish unified, automated workspaces. The course also evaluates how user interfaces and selected digital tools impact the perception of transmitted messages. Given its practice-oriented nature, the curriculum requires the completion of both individual and group projects.
Learning Objectives

Learning Objectives

  • Develop systemic and algorithmic thinking applied to designing unified, automated communication workflows built around AI tools.
  • Build the ability to evaluate how interfaces and AI-mediated tools shape the perception, credibility, and effectiveness of transmitted messages.
  • Foster critical, ethical, and transparent use of AI in audience-facing communication, including awareness of hallucination, bias, and privacy risks.
  • Establish a minimal shared foundation in collaborative digital infrastructure (messengers, CRM, task trackers) needed for coordinated professional communication work.
Expected Learning Outcomes

Expected Learning Outcomes

  • Operates within a basic digital collaboration infrastructure (messengers, CRM, task trackers), applying minimal professional digital business etiquette.
  • Apply interface/UX principles to evaluate and design communication touchpoints, understanding how interface choices shape message perception.
  • Selects and justifies the appropriate neural-network-based tool(s) for a given communication task.
  • Selects and applies multimodal AI tools (text, image, voice/video generation) for communication content, consistent with brand voice.
  • Test an LLM-powered conversational agent or chatbot for a defined communicative purpose, including dialogue flow and fallback handling.
  • Coordinates individual and group project work, applying agreed etiquette, task-tracking, and reporting conventions.
  • Applies systemic and algorithmic thinking to model and automate communication workflows built around AI tools.
  • Designs and tests an LLM-powered conversational agent or chatbot for a defined communicative purpose, including dialogue flow and fallback handling.
  • Integrates LLMs, via APIs or no-code connectors, into a unified automated workspace spanning messengers, CRM, and content tools.
  • Uses AI-based tools for communication analytics: sentiment analysis, engagement prediction, and campaign optimization.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks of AI-assisted communication: hallucination, bias, privacy exposure, over-automation, and loss of brand voice.
