Course Syllabus
Abstract
The discipline introduces students to the fundamental concepts of discrete mathematics and methods of analyzing social networks and graphs. Graph theory, combinatorics, Boolean algebra, and propositional logic are considered. Special attention is paid to the applications of graph theory in sociological research, marketing analysis and communications. Students acquire skills in modeling social interactions, identifying communities and connections within a network, as well as applying clustering algorithms and ranking graph nodes.
