Course Syllabus
Abstract
The project seminar has a practical orientation. The students develop skills in the field of management, in the basics of organizing and conducting a management project. The seminar touches upon key practical methodologies and tools used in project management. During the practical parts of the seminar, students form small project groups, where they solve the tasks.
Learning Objectives
- The aim of the project seminar is mastering competences in the field of modern project management.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor project activities throughout the project lifecycle using relevant project management processes and tools.
- Identify, assess, prioritize, and manage project risks and opportunities to support effective project implementation.
- Apply project management communication and feedback techniques, and professional practices to support successful project outcomes.
- Apply project management approaches based on project objectives and characteristics.

- Project Management Frameworks and Methodologies
- Extra PM Methodologies and Project Reporting
- The Project Lifecycle: From Initiation to Closure
- PMBOK Knowledge Areas and Comprehensive Risk Management
- Risk Categorization, Opportunity Management, and Project Reporting
- Product Management: Vision, Lifecycle, and Strategy
- Course Review: The PM Toolkit, Feedback, and Career Readiness
Assessment Elements
- In-Class ActivityActive participation in class through engagement in discussions, group activities, case analyses, simulations, and feedback sessions. Students are expected to contribute meaningfully and demonstrate preparation. Presence can be determined in several ways: during an online session – an attendance mark in the videoconference chat / indication of the name in the group work results submitted during the seminar / completion of an individual assignment. - Group ProjectEach group will select or be assigned a real-world business project. The objective is to conduct a structured analysis of the project using relevant concepts and frameworks from the course. Based on this analysis, a practical and actionable plan should be developed, outlining how the project could be improved or more effectively implemented in the future. The findings and recommendations will be submitted in a concise written report and presented through a brief group presentation.
