Программа дисциплины
Аннотация
The course develops the English language skills that Master’s students in Big Data Analytics need to participate effectively in academic and professional communication in Data Science. It combines elements of General English, Business English, and English for Academic Purposes. It is organized around realistic communicative tasks: professional self-introduction, discussing data and analytical results, participating in online meetings, delivering presentations, discussing research materials, and taking part in job interviews.
Particular attention is given to pronunciation, word and sentence stress, rhythm and intonation, as well as to the accurate and fluent production of numbers, formulas, and metrics. Students work with authentic professional and academic materials and practice structuring spoken responses, justifying decisions, asking clarifying questions, discussing limitations, and responding to feedback.
