Аннотация

The discipline "Religions of the World. Global Geography of Religions" is dedicated to the study of major world religions, their historical development, geographical distribution, and influence on socio-political processes in various regions of the modern world. The course provides students with a holistic understanding of the confessional map of the planet, the religious diversity of humanity, and the interconnection of cultural, civilizational, and geopolitical factors of religious existence. The aim of the discipline is to develop a systematic understanding of the religious structure of the contemporary world, the specific functioning of religions in different cultural and political contexts, and the role of religious institutions in the processes of globalization and international interaction. The course is designed to cultivate skills for the analytical perception of the religious landscape of the world, the ability to identify patterns in the spread and transformation of religious traditions, and to determine their significance for international relations and intercultural dialogue. Within the framework of the discipline, students master the main approaches to the geopolitical and cultural-civilizational analysis of religions, become familiar with current trends in religious dynamics, the processes of secularization and religious revival, as well as the specifics of religious policy in various states and regions.

The aim of the course is to form in students an integral understanding of the doctrine, institutions and geographical distribution of world religions and the ability to take the religious factor into account in professional analysis.
