Программа дисциплины

Аннотация

This interdisciplinary course explores pivotal episodes of world history through the lens of visual art. Moving beyond Eurocentric narratives, the curriculum adopts a comparative approach, analyzing how diverse cultures have visualized universal human experiences: creation, catastrophe, urbanization, power, and progress. Students will examine the intersection of theology, archaeology, politics, and aesthetics, critically analyzing how "history" is constructed on the canvas. Special attention is paid to the function of art in memory of the world and cross-cultural dialogue.
