Abstract

Technologies are used in many industries but hardly described. The course informs students about tools and instruments to assess the value and potential impact of technologies. It introduces approaches to assess economic and technological value of technologies and technology portfolios. This is also important for companies to allocate resources, either financial or human resources to technology development. This course examines technology assessment approaches in all their existing forms. In-class exercises support students gathering experience in technology assessment by learning by doing. Practical exercises are an important element of the course. The educational module “Modern approaches to studying the effects of digital technology adoption, including artificial intelligence” of the course was prepared in the framework of a research grant funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (grant ID: 075-15-2020-978).
