Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course is aimed at introducing students to everyday life of youth through the prism of the qualitative research methods and study of academic literature on youth. Students will learn the basic methods of qualitative research, theoretical approaches, empiical methods of youth research. Finally, students will have an opportunity to conduct their own qualitative empirical research on youth.

  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and critical understanding of fundamentals of qualitative sociological research of youth
  • Analyze academic literature in a selected research field. Evaluate the logic and argumentation of academic texts.
  • Apply concepts and theories to solve specific research problems; use concepts and principles in new research contexts
  • Apply different coding techniques in analysis
