Course Syllabus
Abstract
The discipline "Legal Aspects of Smart City" reveals the legal issues of implementation and development of "smart city" technologies, theoretical and practical aspects of the digitalization of urban management, the legal foundations for ensuring public safety in the urban environment. Special attention is paid to the legal regulation of data circulation in the digital ecosystem of the city, sector-specific issues of integrating digital solutions into the urban economy (e-health and education, urban social policy, transport and security). As part of the course, students will develop models of legal support for the implementation of digital solutions in certain areas of urban management.
Learning Objectives
- To acquaint students with the main approaches to defining a smart city and the features of legal regulation of this area in Russia and other countries.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Students know the definitions of a smart city and the main classifications, theoretical and practical approaches to legal regulation of smart cities, they are aware of the main legal challenges in this area.
