Course Syllabus

Abstract

“English Literature from Laurence Sterne to Virginia Woolf” is an elective course for students of literary studies. The course is organized chronologically around the major themes of English literature. It introduces works of English and American literature that are the core of the literary canon and the English academic discourse. Assessment for the course is based upon class participation an oral presentation, an essay, and a final oral examination. The course includes elements of “writing in the discipline”, the work on the essay is important as a process not just product.
