Erasmus + Mobility Experience: Big Data Systems (HSE) and EURECOM Sophia Antipolis Partnerships
The students of Big Data Systems master’s programme have good opportunity to participate in different exchange programs with international partner universities. One of the programme lead partners is EURECOM Sophia Antipolis (France, Nice) which embraces our students every year. Starting from 2015/16 academic year the cooperation between HSE (Big Data Systems master’s programme) and EURECOM Sophia Antipolis was supported by Erasmus + Mobility Program.
We met with Chandadevi Giri - Big Data Systems international student from India - who participated in the exchange Erasmus + Mobility Program (HSE/ EURECOM) in 2016 and she shared her Erasmus + Mobilityexperience.
«Under the prestigious Erasmus + Mobility program, I feel fortunate to have studied at EURECOM, Nice, second most visited and astonishing city in France. This has been a wonderful learning experience and most memorable moment of my life. I feel more matured and responsible person after studying at EURECOM. I had a golden opportunity to closely experience so called French culture by learning French language, trying famous French cuisine, and interacting with cordial staff, peers and faculty. EURECOM does its best to introduce its students to what French culture is meant to be by organizing trips to Museums, international Meal festivals, and other cultural events. The study was also combined with industrial visits and sightseeing which helped me to remain energetic and focused. It would not be an exaggeration to say that EURECOM was my second home. Besides France, I could also explore other part of Europe by visiting countries such as Italy, Germany, and Austria. Overall, I must mention that my study experience at EURECOM almost made me forget the worst one when I had just arrived at Nice airport and lost all my valuable belongings. I am grateful to EURECOM international office staff and BDS program manager at HSE for their timely help in such a difficult situation.
EURECOM campus is a modern, refreshing and it gave me a feeling of being in the middle of research driven atmosphere full of state-of-the-art educational & research facilities. I owe a lot to the Erasmus + Mobility Program offered by HSE, Moscow which offered me unique chance to explore countless opportunities for my career in Data Science and to meet people around the globe. The courses in “MSc in Big Data Systems” program prepared me with the advanced skills in data science that helped me in expanding my knowledge in this domain.
Educational experience:
I have had a wonderful experience of working on the Applied Machine Learning labs, exploring the range of statistics and machine learning applications by being able to build various models and address the real-world big data analytics problems. Gaining an experience of doing international business in virtual environment, learning different phases of project management and mastering management skills with a group of intelligent and innovative peers was simply amazing. The guidance of the renowned professors in the Department of Data Science of EURECOM was invaluable. It was a great fun to interact with peers from different nationalities and supportive administrative staff. This whole study experience is such that I will always cherish and look back at with great appreciation for the rest of my life.»
