On October 27, Higher School of Economics held the Lunokhod-1 science festival in the Digital October convention centre. Our laboratory presented an interactive supercomputer demonstration booth at the event. D.Sc. V.V.Stagailov delivered a popular science report “Why do we need supercomputers, how to design and use them?”.

Anna Rezyapova, a research assistant of our laboratory, participated in two international events related to the problem of migration and demography which took place in Athens (June 18-21, 2018) and Lisbon (June 26-28, 2018). Anna shared her experience and impressions of the trip.

On February 12, the winners of last year's Student Research Paper Competition were announced. Not only did they receive prizes, but also had the opportunity to put some thought-provoking questions to the university administration. HSE portal selected five questions which are highly relevant to researchers at HSE and internationally, and the responses are below.

A conversation with 2018 Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak was held at Columbia University on February 8, 2018. The talk was organized by the Harriman Institute and the New York University Jordan Center for the Advanced Study of Russia, and moderated by Timothy Frye, ICSID Academic Supervisor and Chair of the Department of Political Science at Columbia University.

The Moscow Government has presented various awards to several young HSE researchers - Aigul Mavletova, Evgeny Feigin and Alexey Vdovin.

This October World Festival of Youth and Students took place in Sochi bringing together over 20 000 young people from 150 countries. Several HSE international students participated in the event, among them — Nawaid Alam, graduate of Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation programme and HSE doctoral student. He shared his impressions with HSE News Service.

Julian G. Waller, Ph.D Candidate at the Department of Political Science at the George Washington University and ICSID Associate Fellow, told us why he studies the Post-Soviet region and how he enjoyed his life in Moscow.

Anna Shestakova, PhD is a head of Centre for Cognition and Decision making gave a lecture "Brain and commercials: fundamentals of neuromarketing" on 3rd of August on VDNKH in Moscow as a part of HSE programme "Neurotechnologies in science and life".
