HSE Moves up 10 Positions in QS EECA Ranking
On its 25th anniversary, the Higher School of Economics (HSE) took 25th place in the QS EECA (Emerging Europe & Central Asia) Ranking, thus improving its result by 10 positions as compared with last year. This ranking includes 300 positions and takes into account higher education institutions in transitional European and Central Asian countries.

APEC’s Role in Sustainable Energy Development

Mr. Pengcheng Li, Director of CNIS (China) and Chair of the APEC Expert Group on Energy Efficiency & Conservation (EGEE&C), recently took part in the 50th anniversary meeting of the EGEE&C held at HSE Moscow. Following the event, he spoke with the HSE News Service about some of the topics covered, including the role he sees Russia playing in sustainable energy development.

Anastasia Panova, intern-researcher at the Linguistic Convergence Laboratory, participated in the Twelfth conference of the Slavic Linguistics Society, from 21 to 24 September in Ljubljana (Slovenia), where she gave a poster presentation "A corpus outlook on regional varieties of Russian in Daghestan".

Database clarifies bottom-up design of cement

An international team of scientists led by EPFL Lausanne, ETH Zurich and Rice University has created a database of molecular dynamics models that simulate the properties of cement in all its varieties.

Moscow City Government Acknowledged Accomplishments of HSE Staff Members

According to the decision of Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, fourteen HSE staff members were officially recognised by Moscow Government, with the awards being timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the university. Tatiana Kuznetsova, Director of the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge Centre for S&T, Innovation and Information Policy among them.
