Congratulations to the members of the IDLab with the best students' research projects!

We congratulate our colleague Anastasiya Belinskaya on winning a studentship from the Oxford Russia Fund! The studentship is awarded to graduate students for 2018 and 2019 based on academic merit and research performance. Anastasiya's master thesis project is titled "The effect of feedback signal presentation latency on the effectiveness of training in neurofeedback paradigm" and is supervised by Prof. Alex Ossadtchi.

The data book prepared by Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge, National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE ISSEK) covers data on the level and trends in the education indicators in the Russian Federation, including comparative international data. Some sections contain an assessment of the educational attainment of students, relation between the educational attainment and the labour market, education funding, enrolment, personnel, and conditions of studying.

Faculty of Economic Sciences hosted Nobel Laureate Eric Maskin with the lecture "How Presidents Should be Elected".

On December 11 Elena Sautkina (PhD, Professor, Department of Psychology,Higher School of Economics, Moscow, Russia) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "Habit Disruption and Behaviour Spillover. A Study of the English Plastic Bag Charge".

Sarah Wilson Sokhey, ICSID Associate Fellow and Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder, received the Ed A Hewett Book Prize for her book "The Political Economy of Pension Policy Reversal in Post-Communist Countries" that was published by Cambridge University Press in 2017.

The 12^th scientific seminar "Modern demography" was held on the 11th of December. Vladimir M. Shkolnikov, PhD, academic supervisor of the International laboratory for population and health of NRU HSE, research scientist at Laboratory of demographic data at Max Planck Institute for demographic research presented a paper "What is unusual about the Russian mortality? Population-level evidence".
