In 2018 the Department of Science and Technology of the Republic of South Africa commissioned a national Foresight study to the ISSEK Foresight Centre. Preliminary findings will be discussed at a workshop in Pretoria on October, 18–19. Ozcan Saritas, Leading Researcher at the Foresight Centre and Deputy Head of the Research Laboratory for Science and Technology Studies, will take part in this event.

HSE International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development (ICSID) and NES Center for the Study of Diversity and Social Interactions held another session of their joint Research Seminar on Diversity and Development on October 9, 2018. 

New scientific advisor of the ANR-Lab prof. dr. Anuška Ferligoj has made a presentation on the topic “Measuring networks: Reliability and Validity” at the Monday open seminar.

The paper of researcher fellows of the International Laboratory for Sociocultural Research and teachers of the master's program "Applied Social Psychology" Anastasia Batkhina, Dmitry Grigoryev, Dmitrii Dubov and Тomas Jurcik (associate professor of the Department of Psychology HSE) was recognized as the best paper of the special issue of the Russian Psychological Journal by the decision of the Competition Commission. The Russian Psychological Journal is a leading Russian peer-reviewed journal of psychology and an open-access journal established by the Russian Psychological Society.

On October 9 Svetlana Komissarouk (PhD, postdoc, teacher, department of psychology, Columbia University, USA) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "Theory of Attachment to the Motherland".

On October 2 Michael Bender (PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Psychology, Tilburg University, the Netherlands) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "The scents of Christmas past – the relationship between memory and olfaction".

Deputy Head of ANR-Lab Daria Maltseva took part in the 15th International Conference on Applied Statistics, which was held on September 23-26 in Ribno, Bled (Slovenia).

On September 25 Lucia Bombieri took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "Migration Challenges in Italian, Russian and British Schools".

On Wednesday, September 19 the all-Russian seminar "Mathematical methods of decision analysis in economics, finance and politics" was held. A. Karpov gave a lecture on "On the Number of Separable Preference Profiles".
