Researchers from HSE University and the Institute of Control Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences have proposed a new method of data analysis: tunnel clustering. It allows for the rapid identification of groups of similar objects and requires fewer computational resources than traditional methods. Depending on the data configuration, the algorithm can operate dozens of times faster than its counterparts. Thestudy was published in the journal Doklady Rossijskoj Akademii Nauk. As part of the regular scientific seminar, Mikhail Usanin made a report, presenting the results of his joint research with Evgenia Shenkman on “Dual Incentive Analysis in Multi-Stage Competitions: Shadow and Spillover Effects vs. Interrank Spread”. Interrank Spread”.

From June 4 to 6, 2025, the MathSport International 2025 conference took place at the University of Luxembourg. Researchers from around the globe gathered to discuss the application of mathematical methods to the analysis of sports, ranging from soccer to cyber sports. More than 100 papers were presented in total, including two studies by young IDLab specialists.

The HSE Centre for Language and Brain conducted a course on tractography, a method that enables visualisation of key brain connections and helps surgeons avoid damaging language-critical areas during surgery. The course was attended by neurosurgeons and radiologists from Moscow and other Russian regions who are interested in methods of preoperative language mapping.

April 26 - May 4, 2025, Fethiye (Turkey) hosted a major international scientific forum – the ICSM2025 and ICQMT2025 joint conference, which brought together the world's leading experts in the field of superconductivity, magnetism, innovative and quantum materials. The Forum has become an important platform for discussing the latest experimental and theoretical achievements aimed at developing advanced technologies and searching for new functional materials.The Center's scientists traditionally take an active part in this conference, demonstrating a high level of scientific research and strengthening international scientific ties.

On April 29, 2025, the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation hosted a public presentation of the results of a study devoted to parental perception of the implementation of an ethical information protocol when a child is suspected or diagnosed with a disabling diagnosis. The event was attended by the head of the laboratory Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova and research intern Mikhail Korzh.

On April 22, another seminar was held within the framework of the RNF project 23-78-10149 “Factors of SME resource intensification under conditions of external uncertainty” led by Iuliia N. Naidenova.

On the 21st of April at the Perm campus of the National Research University Higher School of Economics the XII scientific conference "Neighbors in Research" took place, which brought together many scientists from Russian and foreign universities. Researchers of the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy of the Perm campus of the National Research University Higher School of Economics actively participated in the conference - more than 10 reports were presented in 9 sections. We summarise the results and share the impressions of the participants.
