We invite young researchers to join our projects for the preparation of candidate theses

Biologists and mathematicians from HSE University, Skoltech and the RAS Kharkevich Institute have studied the spread of COVID-19 in Russia. The main part of the study was completed in late June, but until October, the team was working with data following the reviewers’ recommendations. The paper was published on January 28, 2021 in the journal Nature Communications. MIEM students spoke about their contribution to the research.

From October 2020 to January 2021 there was online Arctic Opportunity Explorers Programme run by Sustainia (a global sustainability consulting company, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark), HelloScience, and participating universities, with support from the Nordic Council of Ministers. Research assistant of DeCAn Yulia Skrupskaya took part in this programme.

The Linguistic convergence laboratory organized an open course in English about the main area of ​​expertise of the laboratory - the languages ​​of the Nakh-Daghestanian (also known as East Caucasian) language family.

On Wednesday, October 21, the National Research University Higher School of Economics hosted a regular meeting of the All-Moscow seminar "Mathematical methods for analyzing optimal solutions in economics, business and politics".

During the seminar, there were discussed several ongoing research projects: 
1) Daniil Tkachev - "The effect of changes in threshold values of the consistency index on the balance measure of the Reichstag of the Weimar Republic"
2) Alexandra Eremenko - "Network analysis of Russian scientific publications in the field of Public Administration"
3) Nadezhda Teltsova - "Data Analysis of Health System of the Russian Federation using clustering methods and pattern analysis"

On Sunday, June 21 the scientific seminar of the International Centre of Decision Choice and Analysis was held. Aibulat Yamilov gave a lecture on "Analysis of the investment attractiveness of the regions: the impact of conflicts and economic factors on foreign direct investment"
