Possible topics for master and PhD thesis

I am currently working on the use of digital footprints and non-reactive data in relation to assessing the transformation of general education during digital adoption. This topic is relevant since there is a need to compare different educational organizations and different educational systems with each other.The following thesis topics are possible or relevant:
1. How to assess whether digital transformation of education is taking place? (using particular indicators of different levels as examples)
2. Construction and validation of indicators of digital transformation of education.
3. How do schools adopt digital tools for teaching and learning?
I am also interested in studies carried out in design-based research methodology:
1. What capabilities do AI-based tools offer in general education?

And research at the intersection of educational data mining in and evaluation of ICT mastery in school:
1. Students and teachers performance evaluation based on educational data mining models

Exploring Ireland’s Best Practices in Digital Schooling

IOE doctoral student Irina Dvoretskaya, who has concentrated most of her research on topics of digital transformation in secondary education, has recently completed her PhD internship with the Centre for Research in IT in Education (CRITE) in Dublin, the Republic of Ireland. During her stay at CRITE, Irina was focused on exploring how Irish schools from various socioeconomic settings put to use the potential of modern ICT to make a difference in school-age learning & development.

SELFIE: Helping Schools Go Digital

This January, Spain’s Seville, which is the capital of Andalusia and one of the country’s most picturesque localities, welcomed an expert workshop as part of the large-scale SELFIE school digital self-evaluation project. Irina Dvoretskaya, a researcher at the IOE Center for Educational Leadership, attended the event to discuss the results of SELFIE’s pilot stage in Russia and outline key areas for further developing and refining this new school assessment framework.
