Admissions for HSE University Online Bachelor’s and Master’s Programmes Open
Admissions for a number of online programmes start on February 1, 2022. The HSE News Service reports on the programmes and benefits available.
International admissions started on November 1, 2021. Starting from February 1, you can apply for online Master's programmes in:
Master of Data and Network Analytics (in English)
Master of Data Science (in English)
Master of Business Analytics (in English)
Master of Finance (in English)
Master of Computer Vision (in English)
Strategic Communications Management (new programme)
Cybersecurity (new programme)
LegalTech (new programme)
Machine Learning and Data-Intensive Systems
International Legal Management
Additional enrolment for the online Master of Data Science programme will remain open until February 28.
Admissions are also open for online undergraduate degrees taught in Russian:
Computing and Data Science (HSE Moscow), Design (HSE Perm), Economic Analysis (HSE Moscow), Digital Platforms and Logistics (HSE St. Petersburg). The latter two programmes are new.
All the bachelor's and master's programmes listed above are fee-paying. The graduates of online degree programmes receive regular HSE University diplomas. The programmes feature various types of coursework and rely on project-based learning.
Tuition fee discounts from 25–75% are available to undergraduate and graduate applicants who score highly on the entrance exams, winners of student olympiads, graduates of HSE University courses and certain other applicants.
HSE Vice Rector Sergey Roshchin
While discussing the strategy for implementing online degrees at universities during the eSTARS 2021 international conference, HSE Vice Rector Sergey Roshchin said: ‘We consider it important to develop the university's educational portfolio and to consider the possibilities of fully online programmes. We will launch new programmes in 2022. We’ve already announced admissions for 17 programmes: 4 bachelor's and 13 master's. HSE University currently has the largest number of online bachelor's and master's programmes in Russia.’
HSE University was the first Russian university to launch a master’s programme on Coursera—the English-taught Master of Data Science programme launched in February 2020. In September 2021, HSE University held admissions for 11 online programmes, 9 of which were new.
In September 2021, HSE University launched four more English-language online degree programmes on the platform: Master of Computer Vision, Master of Finance, Master of Business Analytics, and Master of Data and Network Analytics. The Smart LMS platform hosts two bachelor's programmes (Design, Computing and Data Science) and the HSE Online education platform features four master's programmes (Computing and Data Science, Economic Analysis, Digital Product Management, and Marketing Management).
