Abstract

The goal of this discipline is to develop students' scientifically justified understanding of the objective processes occurring in the field of companies' foreign economic activities, which are influenced by external challenges (protectionism, pandemic, Ukrainian conflict). This discipline involves studying modern forms and trends in the development of international economic relations as a global system of interconnections that encompasses the world economy. Special attention is paid to the practice of organizing and implementing international trade operations, which allows students to gain an understanding of the content of foreign trade commercial activities. This is necessary for making managerial decisions in the field of trade regulation at the state and company level. Approaches to the main categories, concepts and principles of carrying out foreign economic activities at the company level are studied. Discipline allows students to develop tactics and strategies for a firm's behavior in a transaction, interpreting the results, formulating the peculiarities of different companies’ behavior on the global market, analyzing emerging problems and finding optimal solutions.

Learning Objectives

Exploration of modern forms and trends in the development of international economic relations as a global system of interconnections encompassing the world economy;
Study and familiarization with the main categories, concepts and principles of conducting foreign economic activities at the company level;
Overview of problems and practices related to the organization and techniques of conducting foreign trade operations;
Form the students' understanding of the content of foreign trade commercial activities, which is necessary for making managerial decisions in the field of applying trade regulation tools at the state and company levels.

Expected Learning Outcomes

To understand the modern organization of international commercial operations;
To know the basic concepts, terminology and forms of transactions on global markets;
To be able to apply the acquired knowledge to develop tactics and strategies for the company's behavior in the transaction and interpret the obtained results;
To perceive the global market as a system of complex relationships between different categories of participants;
To choose specific applications of knowledge and skills for analyzing situations and applying the practical results of research;
To formulate the peculiarities of behavior of different companies on the global market;
To analyze emerging problems and find optimal solutions;
To have an ability to make decisions regarding the choice of forms and methods of transactions, taking into account the associated risks;
To have an ability to use theoretical knowledge language in analyzing specific situations.

3. Foreign Trade Contracts. Content of foreign trade contracts, contract conclusion, contract management
4. Organization of foreign trade operations management in enterprise. Basics of studying foreign companies, sources of information. Choice of counterparties.
5. Problems and features of Small and Medium-sized enterprises' participation in foreign Trade.
6. Global commodity market conditions and features of its study. Prices in foreign trade.
7. International сapital movement, foreign direct investments
8. Organization and techniques of commercial operations on international commodity exchanges, auctions and sales
9. Offshore operations
10. International leasing operations
11. International commercial operations with intellectual property
