Course Syllabus
Abstract
The seminar is an active form of training in professional competencies. The course is designed to develop the students' understanding of the state of the art practices in the cultural sector, build their individual learning and career trajectories and develop their soft skills. Consultations and workshops are vital elements of the course.
Learning Objectives
- Together with the mentor, to design students' personal educational results
- To gain individual counseling and support of the student's educational and career trajectory
- To gain a broad understanding of best practices and trends in the arts and cultural sector
- To develop students’ soft skills, especially communication skills
Expected Learning Outcomes
- is able to build a trajectory of professional development and career
- is able to understand and navigate in the current trends in the arts and cultural sphere
- is able to adapt one’s own behavioral style to improve communication with others
- is able to apply active listening skills to better understand others
Course Contents
- Introduction to the 2nd year of the master's programme "Arts and Culture Management"
- Career trajectories in arts, culture and creative industries
- Workshops on soft skills development
Assessment Elements
- Assignment #1Analysis of the job market in the field of arts, culture and creative industries.
- Assignment #2The students compile an assignment with accordance to the guidelines distributed by the instructor in advance.
- Active participation in Workshop “Types of Behavior. DiSC”
- Active participation in Workshop “Active listening skills”
