Course Syllabus
Abstract
This course is designed to familiarize students with modern trends in entrepreneurship and the peculiarities of the business environment of the People's Republic of China. At the beginning of the course, issues of globalization and international business are considered, with an emphasis on China's role in the global economy. Further, the political, legal and cultural factors influencing the investment and management climate of the country are studied, as well as a comparative analysis of business practices and corporate culture with other Asian countries.

- Understanding the unique path of China's economic transformation
- Identify key institutional factors in China's business environment
- Apply cultural analysis framework to understand Chinese business behavior
- Evaluate the strategic path to enter the Chinese market
- Gain cross-cultural business communication and teamwork skills
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Grasp the trajectory of China's economic reforms and the current macroeconomic environment
- Be able to identify key dimensions of Chinese business culture; understand the role of "Guanxi" (relationships/networks) in business.
- Gain understanding of the primary entry models for foreign enterprises and legal compliance requirements; become familiar with new foreign investment regulations in 2026.
- Gain understanding of China's unique digital ecosystem; master core marketing strategies to reach Chinese consumers.
- Master the strategies and pacing of business negotiations in China; become familiar with key business etiquette norms.
- Master the basic theory and institutional environment of China's human resource management
