Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course focuses on the following issues: Linguistic and cultural characteristics of a linguistic personality. Linguistic personality vs. Communicative personality. Psychotype as a linguocultural phenomenon. Semantics and pragmatics of communicative behavior. Basic personality vs. Linguocultural type. Linguocultural types as an object of linguocultural research.

Learning Objectives

  • Developing students’ linguacultural competencies in the field of linguapersonology: 1. to know the approaches, mechanisms and methods of interpreting linguistic consciousness and communicative behavior; 2. to be able to identify and classify cultural, social, linguistic and communicative stereotypes of perception of reality; 3. to develop the skills of analyzing and interpreting linguacultural types as typified representatives of ethnosociocultural communities that serve as the keys to understanding linguacultures; 4. to do the in-depth research in the field of linguistic personology.

  • Students apply different classifications for the analysis of linguacultural types
