Course Syllabus

Abstract

Organization theory and design is a macro examination of organizations because it analyzes the whole organization as a unit. This course focuses on the themes and tendencies that are central in contemporary organization theory. The practical application is based on the main issues of organizational design and aims also at better understanding of how various theoretical perspectives can be used to reflect on actions and processes within real organizations. The course contains the examples and analysis of the key processes of organizational design. This course also emphasizes the applications of organization theory in topics that are essential to organizational success, including strategy implementation, innovation, organizational structure and culture, change management, and power and influence.
