Assessment Elements

Assessment Elements

  • non-blocking Article readings, video and case study analysis
The case, video, and articles would have assigned a week before the seminar where they would be discussed and analyzed.
  • non-blocking Class attendance
A common challenge for lecturer is managing punctuality among students. We hope to address this point by rewarding the desired behavior with a grading weight of 10%. The grade for class attendance would be calculated as follows: total number of student attendance divided by Number of expected class attendance × 10.
  • non-blocking Final project requirements and evaluation criteria
Topic “What factors related to organizational behavior influence performance in the particular company at individual, group, or organizational levels?” Students may work independently or as a team of 3-4 people for this project. Deliverables will include an assessment of factors related to organizational behavior, gap analysis, and a path forward proposal for improvement. A required component will include the integration of analytics, innovative problem-solving tools, and change management strategies. Students should select his/her/their organization for this project based both on publicly available data and personal experience. The format of the group project is an oral presentation with written comments on PowerPoint slides incorporating personal reflections of the analysis. Extensive written comments are possible. Time for the presentation is 10 minutes, 5-7 minutes for answering questions. The presentation must be uploaded to the SmartLMS not later than the established deadline. All mini-group members must present their projects. The aims of the project are: 1. to demonstrate what organizational behavior-related challenges different companies face and how they can cope with them. 2. for students to prove their analytic abilities and skills to investigate the situation in a particular company, applying the concepts suggested during the course (both in the class and in the assigned literature).
  • non-blocking Learning Journal
At the end of the course, each student will submit a Learning Journal to reflect what you have learned in classes (e.g., insights into managerial duties and responsibilities, a better understanding of analytics at work, self-insights). A reasonable way is to keep a journal throughout the class to make this task easier.
