Course Syllabus
Abstract
This course studies twentieth-century political history on the example of various countries, both within Europe and outside of it. The course will pay particular attention to the methods and approaches (both traditional and more recent ones) available for the study of political history and how those can be applied to analysis of several political projects. While in the course several individual political systems, such as the Republic of Turkey, Gaullism or the process of European unification, and their functions will be examined, we will also study how political ideas and concepts shaped political decisions and realities and how, in turn, the challenges of reality influenced political ideas.
