THE WUR, Times Higher Education World University Rankings, has compiled its 2019 global rankings. HSE University performed positively, moving up to the 251-300 cohort, and taking third place among Russian universities following MSU and MIPT.

3 guest lectures from representatives of Russian and global companies will launch the new academic year for the 1st year students of the MDI programme. The lectures will be held in English from 10:30 to 15:00 at the HSE campus on Shabolovka street, room 5214.

Maria Fay earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Informatics from HSE University (2013). Today, she works at SAP and is in charge of innovation projects in Central and Eastern Europe. She recently earned her PhD from the University of Liechtenstein. Maria has talked with the HSE News Service about combining education, work, and research.

Part of the Centre of Deep Learning and Bayesian Methods and another partner project between Sberbank and HSE University’s Faculty of Computer Science, the laboratory will focus on applying machine learning methods to financial services.

The HSE School of Business Informatics implements the Management and Digital Innovation programme jointly with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The programme gives students a unique opportunity to receive two full-fledged diplomas - the Russian BSc degree in Business Informatics, as well as the UK BSc degree in Management and Digital Innovation (MDI).

In late October, students from the HSE School of Business Informatics organised the second Major League Hacking (MLH) hackathon hosted in Moscow. The participants of the event, which include students and alumni of Russian and foreign universities, developed IT solutions for Russian companies.

The 7^th Moscow International Forum ‘Open Innovations.’ which took place from October 15 – 17 in Skolkovo, included an exhibition on the results of research carried out by academic institutions, small enterprises and leading universities, including HSE.
