Abstract

The Management in Asian Countries course provides a comprehensive overview of the culture and business practices in East and South East Asia, including India and the United Arab Emirates. Such an overview provides students with a solid and fundamental basis for understanding the key factors that influence the formulation and implementation of business strategy in these countries. Students will learn about the particularities of doing business in Asian markets, and the challenges of setting up and managing a business in Asia. Students will complete the course with a better understanding of how to identify and evaluate the risks and opportunities associated with Asian markets. In addition, the course focuses on some of the key business practices, industries and prominent companies in the region. By critically examining the unique macro factors, business and management practices specific to these industries, companies and countries, students will gain an in-depth understanding of management in Asia with a broad regional and global perspective.
