Our courses: Introduction to the grammar of a lesser known language

This course suggests overview courses introducing the students to the grammatical structure of minor ‘exotic’ languages. This includes an overview of the phonetics, morphology; the semantics of morphological markers; basic syntactic structures of the language. Each individual course may take from two to eight lectures and seminars, including analysis of a sample text. The courses are presented by experts on individual languages, both from within and outside the School of Linguistics. It may also include a component dedicated to the methods of field research.
