Research Assistant at the Laboratory for Comparative Social Research defended his candidate dissertation on the topic “Affective Sources of Trust in the President of Russia”.

Russians with children feel happier than those without children. At the same time, the number of children influences the assessment of happiness: the more children Russians have, the happier they feel. These conclusions were outlined inthe report ‘More Children, More Happiness: The Impact of the Number of Children on Russians’ Assessment of Happiness,’ presented at the XXV Yasin (April) International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development, held on April 15–18 at HSE University. The study was conducted by Elena Churilova, Senior Research Fellow, and Dmitry Jdanov, Chief Research Fellowat HSE International Laboratory for Population and Health.

On April 10, 2025, the head of the laboratory Elena Yarskaya-Smirnova took part in a meeting of the Expert Council under the Council under the President of Russia for the implementation of state demographic and family policy. The meeting was held in the upper house of parliament - the Federation Council (SF RF). The event was chaired by the Chair of the SF RF Committee on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova.

The anniversary 25th Yasin (April) International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development will take place from April 15 to 18. This year, over a thousand applications were submitted to present at the conference, of which the Programme Committee selected 381 of the best research papers in their respective fields.

From 11-13 April, IDLab research assistants Matkin Nikita, Smirnov Alexey and Usanin Mikhail, who are also participants of the Academic Personnel Reserve Program, attended the retreat "Effective Strategies for Professional Development in the Academic World". This event was organised by the Center for Work with High Professional Potential Groups of the Corporate Academy of the National Research University Higher School of Economics.

All-Russian scientific conference with international participation "Parallel Computing Technologies (PaVT) 2025" was held in Moscow, at the National Research University Higher School of Economics , April 8 - 10, 2025, 

On March 28, 2025, in Moscow, as part of the XV Grushin Conference, the sections "Inclusive Society: Challenges and Prospects of Human-Centricity" and "Human Capital in an Inclusive Society" were held. Experts discussed key barriers and drivers of inclusion in Russian society, paying special attention to issues of employment, education, representation in the media field and social policy.

On April 11, a seminar "Formal Philosophy" took place, at which Elia Zardini gave a presentation titled "Black Boxes: The Semantics and Logic of Obliterative Modalities."

Scientists at the HSE Cognitive Health and Intelligence Centre have won a grant from the Russian Science Foundation (RSF) to investigate the mechanisms of visual motion perception in autism. The researchers will design an experimental paradigm to explore the relationship between visual attention and motor skills in individuals with autism spectrum disorders. This will provide insight into the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying social interaction difficulties in autism and help identify strategies for compensating for them.
