On the evening of July 11, 2024, World Population Day, the Population Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs presented the updated World Population Prospects 2024. On July 12, the International Laboratory for Population and Health Research in collaboration with the National Center for Population and Health Research of the National Research University Higher School of Economics held a seminar to present the new projections, where they also discussed the population projections for Russia prepared by Federal State Statistics Service, projections of the Global Burden of Disease and the health of the elderly in the context of population aging.

Maria Molodchik, Anna Daviy, and Evgenia Shenkman, participated in the 48th Eurasian Business and Economic Society Conference. The conference was held at Istanbul Ticaret University with the support of the Istanbul Economic Research Association.

From July 8 to 12, Anna Ovchinnikova, an intern researcher at IL LogLinFF, became a participant in the fourth summer school of logic at Tsinghua University (Beijing, China).

On June 26 and 27, HSE University at Pokrovka hosted a discussion of potential partnerships between the university's research teams and strategic projects under the Priority 2030 programme. During the two-day session, the heads of strategic projects presented the main areas of their ongoing research, highlighted some of the key results achieved, and shared their vision for involving new researchers in the projects.

The study was conducted as part of a joint project with the program of professionally organized individual mentoring for children and adolescents in Russia “Big Brothers Big Sisters”.

On June 27, 2024, Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova and Daria Prisyazhniuk took part in the meeting of the Interdepartmental Strategic Project and Analytical Session “Evidence-Based Social Policy: Implementation of an Evidence-Based Approach at the Federal Level and Conditions for Effective Replication of Practices”.

HSE scientists have developed an algorithm to protect digital images, significantly enhancing the security of multimedia data on the internet. The algorithm embeds watermarks into images; these watermarks are invisible to the human eye and capable of resisting various attacks. The results of the study have been published in Computers and Electrical Engineering.

As part of the International AI School-Conference, a poster competition was held.

The School of Interdisciplinary Research in Cognitive and Social Sciences (IRCSS) will be held from 25-27 September 2024 in Saint Petersburg.
