The Ronald F. Inglehart Laboratory for Comparative Social Research (LCSR) has been holding academic seminars for 15 years, bringing together scholars from various countries and offering early-career researchers a platform to present their work. Anna Almakaeva, Head of the Laboratory, spoke to the HSE News Service about how exchanging ideas contributes to academic work, what topics are discussed at the seminars, and the laboratory’s plans for the upcoming academic season.

At a meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Statistical Committee, HSE ISSEK researchers Gulnara Abdrakhmanova and Anna Demyanova presented a system for measuring the full life cycle of AI technologies, which allows not only to track the development and implementation of AI, but also to assess its impact on the social sphere.

From June 3 to 10, the “Application of Artificial Intelligence to Solve Labor Market Problems” hackathon was held at the HSE University in Perm. The event brought together students and young professionals from various universities. The results were summarized and the winners were awarded at the workshop "AI for Solving Applied Problems," where the application of AI in the HR sphere was discussed. The hackathon was organized by the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy and the Laboratory for Labour Market Studies.

On June 17, the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology at HSE University hosted the conference "Experimental and Informational Approaches to Pathological States Research." The event featured participation from a laboratory staff member, Olga Chebotareva, a third-year graduate student in Molecular Biology, who presented the report "Microfluidic Modeling of Trophoblast Invasion: An Experimental Approach to Studying Preeclampsia Pathogenesis."

From June 4 to 6, 2025, the MathSport International 2025 conference took place at the University of Luxembourg. Researchers from around the globe gathered to discuss the application of mathematical methods to the analysis of sports, ranging from soccer to cyber sports. More than 100 papers were presented in total, including two studies by young IDLab specialists.

The third module of the strategic-level Management Talent Pool Development Program in Science, Technology, and Higher Education concluded at the Empress Catherine II St. Petersburg Mining University. Among the participants was Evgeny Knyazev, Head of the Molecular Physiology Laboratory at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, HSE University

The 25th Yasin (April) International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development brought together leading Russian and Western scientists. Among the guests was Jose Luis Cordeiro, PhD, international fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science, Chair of the Millennium Project's Venezuela node, former professor at MIPT and HSE University, and author of The Death of Death.

The second module of the Management Talent Pool Development Program in Science, Technology, and Higher Education concluded at the Presidential Academy of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). The event brought together 85 leaders from scientific organizations, laboratory heads, technology company representatives, and leading Russian universities, including Evgeny Knyazev, Head of the Molecular Physiology Laboratory at HSE University

MIEM Associate Professor A.M. Ostovari will talk about high-entropy materials, their classification and application in the field of energy storage and catalysis.
The seminar will be held at 17:00, February 27 (Thursday), 2025, in auditorium 501 (Academic Council Hall), MIEM. Everyone is invited to attend.

The Future Technologies Forum is a discussion platform dedicated to the development of high-tech technologies in Russia. The Forum was launched in 2023 and has become a flagship event where leading experts, scientists, business representatives and government authorities talk about advanced scientific developments and product solutions based on them. The Roscongress Foundation is the operator of the Forum, and the largest Russian corporations are co–organizers. The plenary session of the Forum was attended by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
